Nordic Energy is a ConEd Electric Alternative

If you have experienced frustration with the poor customer service or inflated prices brought to you by a local utility company, you may want to consider switching to an independent supplier. Local utility companies like Consolidated Edison are often the only supplier available in your area.

In New York, energy customers can choose to change their local utility services provider and choose their own due to a deregulated energy market, but oftentimes consumers aren't aware of this ability to change providers. Understanding that you have a choice with your Electric Service Provider can come as a breath of fresh air for customers who believe that they're stuck with their current provider, and subsequently, overpriced energy, spotty service, or poor customer service.

Why Choose Us

At Nordic Energy, we pride ourselves on responding to our customers as quickly as possible by providing real-time quotes, a customer education portal, and perks such as day-ahead pricing to help our customers make the right choices for their electricity needs. When you choose Nordic Energy, you'll have access to the lowest market prices available as determined by the state of the national energy market, a dedicated sales executive who will handle your account, which means shorter wait times and quick answers for you, and a glossary that includes common acronyms and terms that are often used in the energy market by providers.

FAQs

What is an Energy Services Company or “ESCO”?

An Energy Services Company, or ESCO, is an organization that is eligible to sell electricity and/or natural gas to consumers using the transmission or distribution system of a utility. The NYS Department of Public Service (DPS) requires ESCOs to complete an application process before serving New York Residents.

Why should I consider switching to an ESCO?

ESCOs are competing for your business, and as a result, there may be a wide variety of products and price options available to consumers shopping for or considering changing energy supply.

Are there protections for ESCO Customers?

Yes, there are protections for ESCO Customers. In order to serve residential customers in New York State, ESCOs must comply with the Home Energy Fair Practices Act (HEFPA), which requires that all utility customers be treated fairly with regard to application for service, billing, and complaints processing.
